Thousand Pillar Temple Restoration Complete, Warangal's Heritage Shines Again
•The renovation of Warangal's historic Thousand Pillar Temple (Rudreswara Temple) in Hanamkonda, including the Kalyana Mandapam, has been successfully completed.
•The project, supervised by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), restores the temple's former glory after decades of disrepair and incomplete work.
•Kakatiya Emperor Rudradeva built the Shiva temple in 1163 AD; its Kalyana Mandapam had collapsed due to attacks and natural calamities.
•Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy spearheaded the reconstruction, securing initial funds of Rs. 17 crores and an additional Rs. 14.44 crores for development, including Kameswaralayam.
•The completion is expected to significantly boost tourism in Warangal, showcasing Kakatiya artistic grandeur alongside the UNESCO-recognized Ramappa Temple.
