Bibihar Kali Temple: Ancient Deity in Eerie Jungle Draws Devotees on Diwali Night
•
Bibihar Kali Temple in Banshihari, South Dinajpur, is nestled in a dense, eerie jungle near Buniadpur.
•
The 250-year-old Kali idol is considered highly potent, with locals believing 'Ma' (Mother) is alive there.
•
Devotees flock to the temple on Kartik Amavasya (Deepanwita Amavasya/Diwali night), offering goat sacrifices for fulfilled vows.
•
Located at the end of Dhumpada village, the temple lacks adequate lighting, making the area quite eerie after dusk.
•
Worship was suspended for years but restarted approximately 70 years ago by Haricharan Singh, following Tantric rituals, now managed by his sons.
