EPF Interest Rate Unchanged at 8.25% for FY26: Over 7 Crore Subscribers Await Approval

•EPFO recommends keeping the EPF interest rate at 8.25% for the financial year 2025-26.
•Decision made during the 239th Central Board of Trustees meeting, chaired by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
•The proposed rate awaits approval from the Ministry of Finance and will impact over 7 crore EPFO subscribers.
•EPF interest is calculated monthly but credited annually; accounts inactive for 36 months become dormant.
•The 8.25% rate has been maintained for two years; FY22 saw a four-decade low of 8.1%.
