•The Patna-Purnia Expressway will reduce travel time from 6-7 hours to approximately 3 hours, covering 282 km.
•This six-lane, access-controlled greenfield expressway is being built by NHAI at an estimated cost of Rs 18,000 crore.
•It will connect Patna to Purnia, passing through Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, and Madhepura, enhancing Kosi and Seemanchal region connectivity.
•The expressway will feature 21 large bridges, 140 small bridges, 11 railway overbridges, 21 interchanges, and 32 underpasses.
•Land acquisition is underway; construction is expected to start by late 2025 and finish by 2028, boosting trade, tourism, and employment.
