8th Pay Commission: Government Accelerates Salary Hike Process, Key Details Revealed

The Ministry of Finance submitted key details to Parliament regarding the formation, functioning, and implementation of the 8th Pay Commission.

The commission, officially notified on November 3, 2025, will review pay scales, allowances, and pensions for central government employees.

Retired Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai chairs the commission, with Pulak Ghosh as part-time member and Pankaj Jain as Member Secretary.

The commission has 18 months to submit recommendations and is inviting online memorandums via 8cpc.gov.in until April 30, 2026.

A special 18-questionnaire on MyGov.in seeks suggestions from various employees and stakeholders until March 31, 2026.
