• Banks will be closed for 16 days in January 2026, including Saturdays and Sundays, as per RBI's official list.
• From January 12 to 18, banks in various states will observe consecutive holidays due to festivals and local traditions.
• January 12: Swami Vivekananda Jayanti holiday in West Bengal; banks in other states remain open.
• January 14: Makar Sankranti/Magh Bihu holidays in Gujarat, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam.
• January 15: Sankranti/Pongal/Makara Sankramana/Maghe Sankranti holidays in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Sikkim.
• Tamil Nadu faces extended closures: Jan 16 (Thiruvalluvar Day), Jan 17 (Uzhavar Thirunal), followed by Jan 18 (Sunday).
• Bank holidays are state-specific; digital services (net banking, UPI, ATMs) remain available during closures.
