iPhone Imports Cheaper: India Raises Duty-Free Limit to ₹75,000 for Travelers
- •Indian government increases duty-free allowance for air and sea travelers to ₹75,000, effective February 2, 2026.
- •This new limit applies to Indian citizens, NRIs, and PIOs, making it cheaper to bring iPhones and other gadgets from abroad.
- •A separate exemption allows one laptop or notebook to be brought in completely duty-free, not counting towards the ₹75,000 limit.
- •If the ₹75,000 limit is exceeded, only a 10% duty plus a 10% social welfare surcharge will be imposed on the excess amount, down from 20%.
