Supreme Court Upholds DA Payment: 25% by March, Retirees Included

• The Supreme Court has upheld the High Court's verdict, mandating the state government to pay 25% of outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) by March.
• Retirees will also be eligible to receive the benefit of this outstanding DA payment.
• A new four-member committee, led by a retired judge, will be formed to address the remaining 75% of the outstanding DA.
• The committee will determine the payment schedule and installments for the remaining outstanding amount.
• The Supreme Court reiterated that DA is a right of state government employees, as per ROPA Rules.
