•Prerana Co-operative Bank in Dhayari defrauded of 7.44 lakh rupees using fake gold as collateral.
•A gold appraiser, Laxman Patil, colluded with borrowers Ganesh Adling and Shashikant Godge.
•Patil issued fake certificates confirming the authenticity of the gold, leading to loan approvals.
•Fraud occurred between March 28, 2025, and June 25, 2025, at the bank's Dhayari branch.
•The fraud was exposed when loan repayments were missed and a re-examination revealed the gold was fake.
