Pune Home Sales Plummet 17% in January; New Housing Trends Emerge
•
Pune's real estate market sees a disappointing start to 2026 with a 17% drop in home buying transactions in January.
•
A total of 14,257 home transactions occurred in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad in January 2026, down from 17,449 in January 2025.
•
Stamp duty collection also fell by 5%, resulting in 609 crore rupees deposited in the government treasury.
•
Demand for affordable homes (up to 25 lakhs) decreased from 32% to 25%, while homes between 50 lakhs to 1 crore saw a 4% increase to 29%.
•
Luxury homes (1 to 2.5 crores) now constitute 14% of the market, with central Pune areas accounting for 67% of transactions.
