1,279 Air Traffic Controller Posts Vacant Across India, Govt Confirms

•A total of 1,279 Air Traffic Controller (ATC) posts are vacant out of 5,537 sanctioned positions.
•Air traffic is managed by the state-owned Airports Authority of India (AAI), the sole Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP).
•Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol confirmed the vacancies in Lok Sabha.
•4,320 ATC personnel have been trained in the current financial year at seven operational centers.
•Deployment of ATCOs is based on international norms and air traffic volume, ensuring safe and efficient management.
