1,279 Air Traffic Controller Posts Vacant Across India, Govt Confirms

A total of 1,279 Air Traffic Controller (ATC) posts are vacant out of 5,537 sanctioned positions.
•
Air traffic is managed by the state-owned Airports Authority of India (AAI), the sole Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP).
•
Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol confirmed the vacancies in Lok Sabha.
•
4,320 ATC personnel have been trained in the current financial year at seven operational centers.
•
Deployment of ATCOs is based on international norms and air traffic volume, ensuring safe and efficient management.
