Bangladesh Reinstates Presidential Press Wing After Interim Government's Abolition

The press wing was previously abolished by the immediate past interim regime of Muhammad Yunus.

Mohammad Sarwar Alam has been re-appointed as the press secretary at the Bangabhaban presidential palace for a one-year term.
•
Alam's contractual appointment was scrapped by Yunus's interim government in 2024, along with other press wing staff and photographers.
•
President Shahabuddin alleged that Yunus attempted to remove him from office multiple times during the 18 months of interim rule.
