Bangladesh Reinstates Presidential Press Wing After Interim Government's Abolition

•Bangladesh's new government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has re-equipped President Mohammad Shahabuddin with a press wing.
•The press wing was previously abolished by the immediate past interim regime of Muhammad Yunus.
•Mohammad Sarwar Alam has been re-appointed as the press secretary at the Bangabhaban presidential palace for a one-year term.
•Alam's contractual appointment was scrapped by Yunus's interim government in 2024, along with other press wing staff and photographers.
•President Shahabuddin alleged that Yunus attempted to remove him from office multiple times during the 18 months of interim rule.
