Chhattisgarh's Power Capacity Soars to 30,671 MW, Eyes Energy Capital Status
- •Chhattisgarh's total installed power capacity now stands at 30,671.7 MW, serving over 6.5 million consumers.
- •The capacity includes 28,824 MW thermal, 220 MW hydro, and 2,047 MW from solar and biomass sources.
- •The state is developing 8,300 MW pumped storage hydropower and has signed MoUs for 32,100 MW new projects.
- •New projects, including thermal, nuclear, floating solar, and pumped storage, will attract investments of Rs 3.4 lakh crore.
- •Work is underway on new CSPGC units in Korba West (2x660 MW) and Madwa (800 MW) to boost generation.
