Jharkhand CM orders 'zero human death' in elephant conflicts, directs officials

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren expressed concern over rising man-elephant conflict casualties, with 27 deaths in recent months.

He directed officials to develop a mechanism to ensure no human deaths occur due to elephant attacks.
•
Soren ordered mapping of elephant corridors, specialized training for villagers, and inclusion of trained people in rescue teams.
•
The CM mandated full compensation to victims' families within 12 days and sought data on past five years' conflicts.
•
Forest officials are bringing six 'Kumki' elephants and have deployed 70 teams to manage aggressive herds.
