Rogue Elephant Kills 5 in Two Days in Jharkhand's Bokaro, Toll Rises to 8

A wild elephant killed five people in two days in Jharkhand's Bokaro district.
•
The female elephant trampled two persons to death and injured four on Friday night, after killing three on Thursday morning.
•
The incidents occurred in the Mahuatand police station area; victims include Somar Sao (50) and his grandson Ayush Kumar (9).
•
Divisional Forest Officer Sandeep Shinde stated this elephant has killed eight people in Bokaro in the last 2-3 months and others in Ramgarh.
•
The Vantara rescue team has been contacted to handle the elephant; 474 people have died from elephant attacks in Jharkhand since 2019-20.
