MCD to Install 100 TPD Biogas Plant in Civil Lines to Combat Yamuna Pollution
•A 100 TPD compressed biogas plant is planned between Bhalaswa and Jharoda dairies in Civil Lines, Delhi.
•The plant aims to manage cattle waste from approximately 6,000 cattle, preventing it from entering the Yamuna.
•The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) will submit the proposal to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
•Experts note that dairy waste, though not the dominant source, is a manageable contributor to Yamuna pollution and can be converted into clean cooking fuel.
•The facility will have a capacity of 50 TPD each for Bhalaswa and Jharoda dairies, converting waste into resources like biogas.
