Odisha Cyberfraud Alert: 80,000 Complaints, Rs 972 Cr Lost; CM Majhi Informs Assembly

Over 80,000 cyberfraud complaints involving Rs 972.60 crore reported in Odisha from June 2024 to December 2025.
•
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Assembly, responding to BJD legislator Pratap Keshari Deb.
•
4,238 cases (Rs 260.61 crore) were reported at police stations, leading to 868 arrests.
•
Police recovered Rs 61.36 lakh and froze Rs 8.89 crore in connection with these cases.
•
76,794 complaints (Rs 711.99 crore) filed on National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP); Rs 7.79 crore returned to victims, Rs 101.24 crore blocked.
