Project GIB: 2 New Chicks Hatch in Rajasthan, Captive Tally Reaches 70

•Project Great Indian Bustard (GIB) enters its fourth year of captive breeding.
•Two new chicks hatched this week at the Conservation Breeding Centre in Rajasthan.
•One chick resulted from natural mating, the other from artificial insemination.
•This brings the total number of GIBs in captivity to 70.
•Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav announced plans to soft-release some captive-bred chicks into the wild this year.
