Mumbai Metro 2B: Chembur Station to Open in April, Andheri-Mankhurd Line Progresses

• MMRDA plans to open the Chembur Metro station of Line 2B in April to assess commuter response and improve connectivity.
• Mumbai Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line) is a 23.64 km elevated corridor connecting D.N. Nagar (Andheri West) to Mandale (Mankhurd East), enhancing east-west connectivity.
• The line will have 20 elevated stations and was originally planned to open in three stages, with full completion expected between 2026 and 2027.
• It offers seamless transfers to Metro Line 1, Metro Line 2A, Metro Line 3, Suburban Railway, and Mumbai Monorail.
• The Mandale Depot for Metro Line 2B is Asia’s largest and first elevated Metro facility, capable of stabling 72 eight-coach trains.
