Mumbai Metro 2B: Chembur Station to Open in April, Andheri-Mankhurd Line Progresses
•MMRDA plans to open the Chembur Metro station of Line 2B in April to assess commuter response and improve connectivity.
•Mumbai Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line) is a 23.64 km elevated corridor connecting D.N. Nagar (Andheri West) to Mandale (Mankhurd East), enhancing east-west connectivity.
•The line will have 20 elevated stations and was originally planned to open in three stages, with full completion expected between 2026 and 2027.
•It offers seamless transfers to Metro Line 1, Metro Line 2A, Metro Line 3, Suburban Railway, and Mumbai Monorail.
•The Mandale Depot for Metro Line 2B is Asia’s largest and first elevated Metro facility, capable of stabling 72 eight-coach trains.
