Mumbai Metro 2B Project Accelerates: BKC-Kurla Traffic Woes to End Soon!
•
MMRDA successfully launched two heavy U-girders on Halav Bridge in Kurla for Metro Line 2B.
•
The installation was challenging due to strict height restrictions in the Airport Funnel Zone, with only 3.5 meters vertical clearance.
•
Work was executed at 4 AM using a 500 MT crane, diverting heavy traffic to ensure safety.
•
Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line) is 23.643 km long with 20 elevated stations, connecting D.N. Nagar, BKC, Kurla, Chembur, and Mandale.
•
The Kurla to Chembur section is expected to open by April 2026, with the entire line operational by late 2026 or early 2027.
