Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Metro Line 5: First Phase by Dec 2026, Trial Runs by Sep 2026

•MMRDA aims to open the first phase of Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan Metro Line 5 by December 2026.
•The first phase will cover 12.20 km from Kapurbawdi to Dhamankar Naka with 7 stations.
•Approximately 97% of civil works for the first phase are complete; remaining obstacles cleared.
•Trial runs are planned to commence by September 2026, using temporary stabling lines.
•Titagarh Rail Systems awarded a 2,481 crore contract for 22 metro trains and systems.
