Bengaluru Metro Fares to Rise by 5% Annually Starting February 9

• Bengaluru Metro (Namma Metro) announced an annual automatic fare revision, effective February 9.
• Fares will increase by 5% annually, ranging from Re 1 to Rs 5, based on distance.
• The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is implementing this as per the First Fare Fixation Committee (FFC) recommendations.
• The FFC recommended annual revisions linked to O&M cost or 5% per annum (whichever is lower) to avoid steep hikes like the 51.55% increase seen previously.
• Existing commuter discounts for smart-card/NCMC users, including peak/non-peak hour and holiday discounts, will continue.
