Bengaluru Metro Fares to Rise by 5% Annually Starting February 9
- •Bengaluru Metro (Namma Metro) fares will see an annual automatic revision, increasing by 5% from February 9, 2026.
- •The hike, ranging from Re 1 to Rs 5, is based on distance and is part of a new Annual Automatic Fare Revision Formula.
- •This mechanism, recommended by the First Fare Fixation Committee (FFC), aims to avoid steep, infrequent fare increases by linking revisions to O&M costs or 5% per annum, whichever is lower.
- •The BMRCL stated that while the formula indicated a 10.20% cost increase, the fare revision is restricted to 5% as per FFC stipulations.
- •Existing commuter discounts for smart-card/NCMC users, including peak/non-peak hour and holiday discounts, will continue, and the 5% annual increase will also apply to Tourist Cards/Group Tickets.
