Gujarat Voter Count Drops to 4.40 Crore After SIR, ECI Adds 5.60 Lakh Names
•Gujarat's final voter count stands at 4.40 crore after the publication of electoral rolls on February 17.
•This figure is a significant drop from the previous tally of 5.08 crore, despite a marginal increase from draft rolls.
•The Election Commission of India added 5.60 lakh names after the draft electoral rolls were released on December 19, 2025, following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
•The draft rolls initially showed 4.34 crore voters after 74 lakh names were dropped.
•Chief Electoral Officer Hareet Shukla thanked citizens for their "unprecedented cooperation" during the revision drive.
