•India imported 18,842.60 MTs of uranium from 2008-09 to 2024-25 under IAEA safeguards, Union minister Jitendra Singh informed Lok Sabha.
•Uranium imports significantly boosted nuclear power generation from 3,704 million units in 2009-10 to 39,180 million units in 2024-25.
•The government aims for a 100 GW nuclear power capacity, with 22 GW expected by 2031-32 from ongoing projects.
•Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) plans an additional 32 GW by 2047, reaching about 54 GW with indigenous and foreign cooperation.
•The remaining 46 GW capacity will be developed by other public sector enterprises, state governments, and the private sector using various technologies.
