India's Power Surge: Adds 52,500 MW in 10 Months, Total Capacity Hits 521 GW

• India added over 52,537 MW power capacity in the first 10 months of FY26, a record high.
• This addition represents more than 11% of the total installed capacity.
• Renewable energy sources contributed 39,657 MW, with solar leading at 34,955 MW.
• Wind power added 4,613 MW, while small hydro and bio power contributed 58 MW and 31 MW respectively.
• Thermal power capacity also increased by 8,810 MW during the same period, bringing total installed capacity to 521 GW.
