HAL clarifies Tejas jet reports: No crashes, minor technical incident on ground
•
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) clarified that there have been no recent crashes of Tejas jets, refuting media reports of a grounded fleet.
•
HAL stated the event in question was a minor technical incident on the ground, not a crash.
•
The company is working with the Indian Air Force (IAF) for a speedy resolution of the technical issue.
•
Earlier, HAL shares fell 4% after a PTI report claimed the IAF grounded 30 single-seat Tejas jets for scrutiny due to a brake failure incident.
•
HAL management confirmed 14 LCA Mk1A aircraft are ready, with 24 expected by FY2026, and denied project execution delays were their fault.
