Fake IPS Officer Arrested in Tirupati for Job Scam, Cheated Rs 1.5 Lakh

• Alipiri police arrested a fake IPS officer, K. Suresh Kumar alias Surya, for defrauding Venkateswara Rao of Rs 1.5 lakh.
• The accused promised a government job as a Divisional Advisor at the Hyderabad Income Tax Office.
• He claimed to be an IPS officer working in Delhi NIA, recently promoted and transferred to Hyderabad, to gain the victim's trust.
• Venkateswara Rao, a pharmacist and Rapido driver, transferred money via Paytm and PhonePe in installments.
• Police warned the public against job scams, advising verification of claims and immediate reporting of fraud to police or cybercrime helpline 1930.
