Rajgir to Become Asiatic Lion Stronghold, Breeding Center Soon to Double Safari Adventure

Rajgir Zoo Safari is being developed as a major lion breeding center, similar to Bihar's West Champaran Tiger Reserve.

A 7-year-old lioness, Parvati, was brought from Patna's Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park to Rajgir under an 'Animal Exchange Program'.
•
Two 13-month-old female cubs from Rajgir were sent to Patna Zoo to enhance genetic diversity and maintain breeding balance.
•
Rajgir now houses 9 lions (two males, seven females), with a 100% cub survival rate contributing to population growth.
•
Rajgir Zoo Safari is set to become the country's fourth lion breeding center, with a 20.54-hectare natural forested area for lions.
