Dudhwa to Conserve World's Smallest Cats; Experts Gather, Special Cameras Planned
•Dudhwa National Park, Uttar Pradesh, initiates conservation efforts for small wild cats, including the world's smallest, the Rusty Spotted Cat.
•Dudhwa is unique, hosting four of India's nine small cat species: Jungle Cat, Leopard Cat, Fishing Cat, and the tiny Rusty Spotted Cat.
•Special cameras will be installed to identify and count these shy, nocturnal cats, which are rarely seen due to their small size (13-18 inches, 900g-1.5kg).
•Experts from India, Nepal, and Bhutan are meeting to strategize conservation, following successful efforts in Arunachal Pradesh.
•Rusty Spotted Cats are also found in Sri Lanka and Nepal, attracting wildlife tourists to Dudhwa National Park.
