NPS Withdrawal Rules Eased: Who Can Now Take 100% Of Their Corpus?

  • PFRDA introduced significant changes to NPS withdrawal rules in December 2025, allowing 100% corpus withdrawal under certain conditions.
  • At retirement (age 60+), subscribers with a corpus of Rs 8 lakh or less can withdraw the entire amount as a lump sum, up from Rs 5 lakh.
  • For premature exit (after 5-year lock-in), a corpus of Rs 5 lakh or less allows 100% lump sum withdrawal.
  • In case of subscriber's death, nominee/legal heir receives 100% of the corpus as a lump sum, regardless of the amount.
  • The maximum exit age has been extended to 85, offering greater flexibility for long-term investment.
