Telangana's Century-Old Railway Stations Transform into Mini-Airports

• Four century-old railway stations in Telangana – Mahabubnagar, Jadcherla, Gadwal, and Jogulamba – are being transformed into mini-airport-like facilities.
• The central government is significantly boosting Telangana's railway infrastructure, with budget allocations increasing six-fold to Rs. 5,454 crores for 2026-27.
• Mahabubnagar station, under the Amrit Bharat scheme, is undergoing a Rs. 40 crore modernization, adding escalators, lifts, and new buildings within 8 months.
• Similar upgrades are planned for Jadcherla (Rs. 36.67 Cr), Gadwal (Rs. 42.82 Cr), and Jogulamba (Rs. 6.7 Cr) to provide world-class passenger amenities.
• These developments aim to accommodate increasing passenger traffic and enhance the overall railway experience in the state.
