India's Mobile Data Usage Soars: 31GB Per User in 2025, 5G Dominates Traffic
•India's average monthly mobile data consumption per user reached 31 GB in 2025, up from 27.5 GB in 2024, according to Nokia's MBiT report.
•Pan-India monthly 5G data traffic surged 70% year-on-year, contributing nearly 47% of the country's overall mobile broadband traffic.
•India now holds the world's second-largest 5G subscriber base, 5G data consumption, and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) user base.
•FWA is a key driver for data traffic growth, with its share of overall 5G data exceeding 25% and a two-fold year-on-year growth in subscribers.
•The number of active 4G devices reached 892 million in 2025, with over 383 million being 5G-capable, driven by a 10-fold growth in budget 5G phone shipments.
