India's Sugar Exports Soar to 3.15 Lakh Tonne (Oct-Feb 2025-26); UAE Top Buyer: AISTA
•India exported 3.15 lakh tonnes of sugar during October-February in the 2025-26 marketing year, as reported by the All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA).
•The UAE emerged as the top destination, receiving 79,683 tonnes, followed by Afghanistan (71,813 tonnes), Djibouti (45,801 tonnes), and Tanzania (21,330 tonnes).
•White sugar accounted for 2,57,971 tonnes of total shipments, with refined sugar making up 53,664 tonnes.
•AISTA Chairman Praful Vithalani stated that India expects to achieve physical shipments of more than 8,00,000 tonnes, including to Asian and Gulf countries.
•The central government has approved total exports of 2 million tonnes for the 2025-26 marketing year; however, India's sugar output estimate was revised down to 28.3 million tonnes due to adverse weather.
